A woman was killed following a motorcycle crash in Davis, Yolo County, on Thursday afternoon, May 7, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. on Interstate 80 near the Richards Boulevard exit.
Authorities stated that the woman, a passenger in the motorcycle, was traveling behind a pickup truck when traffic began to slow.
Investigators said that the motorcycle rear-ended the pickup truck, causing the passenger to be ejected onto another lane of the freeway. A big rig traveling nearby was unable to stop in time and struck the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motorcycle driver was not injured in the collision. Authorities reported that all involved vehicles remained at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
CHP stated that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been factors in the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
