[05-24-2024] Two People Injured, Including Student, After Collision Involving School Bus in South Lake TahoeTwo people were injured, including a student, after a collision involving a school bus in South Lake Tahoe on Friday morning, May 24, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 8:00 a.m. at Sacramento Avenue and Merced Avenue.

CHP said that the vehicle’s driver ran through a stop sign in the intersection, resulting in a collision with a Lake Tahoe Unified School Bus.

More than a dozen students were onboard the bus at the time of the accident, but only one was reportedly injured and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

One person from the vehicle that ran the stop sign was also injured. It is still unclear if the injured person from the vehicle involved was the driver or a passenger.

None of the injured individuals were identified at this time. All injuries reported were described as only minor.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. No arrests have been made yet.
