Four people sustained minor injuries following a wrong-way DUI crash on Interstate 5 in Shasta County on Sunday night, May 24, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white 2023 Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes near Bridge Bay Road when it collided head-on with a northbound black 2023 GMC Yukon.
Authorities stated that all four occupants of the Yukon were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver of the Sentra, 37-year-old Deandre W. of California, was not injured.
The driver was taken into custody by CHP on felony DUI charges and transported to the Shasta County Jail.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
