[05-25-2024] Minor Injuries Reported Following Two-Vehicle Crash Involving DUI in San RamonMinor injuries were reported following a two-vehicle crash involving a DUI in San Ramon on Saturday evening, May 25, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 6:00 p.m. in the area of San Ramon Valley Blvd, south of Bollinger Canyon Road. 

Authorities stated that two vehicles were involved in the crash, including a Mini Cooper that was driven by a man who claimed to be armed. When the responding officials went to the aid of the man driving a 2012 Mini Cooper, the suspect barricaded himself in the car and told the authorities he had a gun. However, upon further investigation, there was no gun located or ever seen at the scene. 

Minor injuries were reported in the collision, but the extent of injuries remains unclear. 

The driver of the Mini Cooper was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs and was taken into custody. There is no information yet regarding the identity of the suspect. 

No further information was released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
