[05-30-2024] Two People Hospitalized Following Single-Vehicle Crash in HoncutTwo people were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Honcut, Butte County, early Thursday morning, May 30, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after midnight on Lower Honcut Road, south of Oroville.

CHP stated that a vehicle driven by a woman with a male passenger slammed into a nearby tree along Lower Honcut Road when its driver reportedly swerved to avoid a deer on the road.

Both the driver and her passenger were taken to the hospital after sustaining moderate injuries, including broken bones. The current condition of the pair is unknown. Neither of the two were identified as of yet.

Further information was not available at this time. The authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors that may have contributed to the single-vehicle collision.
