[05-31-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle Along Avocado Avenue in PerrisA pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Perris on Friday evening, May 31, 2024. 

According to the Perris Sheriff’s Station, the crash happened around 8:17 p.m. at the intersection of N. Perris Boulevard and Avocado Avenue. 

Authorities stated that an unresponsive pedestrian was found at the scene after being struck by an unspecified vehicle. The victim sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where they died. 

Initial investigation showed that the pedestrian stepped into the roadway and attempted to cross the boulevard when they were hit by a vehicle in the southbound lanes. The identity of the victim has yet to be disclosed, pending the notification to the next of kin. 

Police said that the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role. 

No further information was released, and the investigation continues.
