[05-31-2024] Pedestrian Killed After Getting Hit By Vehicle Along I-10A pedestrian was killed after getting hit by a vehicle in San Bernardino early Friday morning, May 31, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 2:14 a.m. along I-10 near Orange Avenue. 

CHP said that the pedestrian, identified only as a male, was struck by a vehicle on the westbound lanes of I-10. He was found in the slow lane of the freeway and was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, additional details on his identity were not immediately known. 

Further investigations show that four vehicles pulled over on the right-hand side of the road, one of which was involved in the collision. It is unknown if there is anyone else injured or if drugs or alcohol played a role. 

Significant disruptions were reported at the crash site. The police enacted a hard closure of lanes 4 and 5, and a Sig Alert was issued for approximately one hour. 

No further details were released, and the responding officers are gathering all the necessary information to determine the cause of the crash. 

Investigations are ongoing.
