[06-01-2024] 21-Year-Old Woman Killed Following Car Crash Along 40 FreewayA 21-year-old woman was killed following a car crash in San Bernardino County in the early hours of Saturday, June 1, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal incident occurred at about 2:10 a.m. on the westbound side of the 40 Freeway, east of Ludlow.

CHP stated that they received a call about a Nissan SUV rental car that had become disabled and was parked on the right-hand side of the remote freeway. 

Before the agency could finalize its plan to move the disabled vehicle, they received a follow-up report saying that the female driver of the SUV had exited the vehicle and was subsequently struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The collision fatally injured the woman, who was later identified as 21-year-old Nicaria J. from Houston.

It was not disclosed if the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained on the scene. There were no reports of any other injuries.

Additional information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors leading up to the deadly crash.
