[06-01-2026] Sacramento County, CA – Two Killed in Crash Involving Hyundai and Tesla in Elk Grove

Two people were killed, and two juveniles were taken into custody following a crash in Elk Grove on Monday morning, June 1, 2026.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers spotted a suspicious Hyundai just after 4 a.m. on the east end of Brown Road. As officers approached, one occupant fled on foot. The vehicle then sped westbound on Brown Road and collided with a Tesla at the intersection of Elk Grove Florin, and Brown roads.

Authorities reported that four people were in the Tesla. Two were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two were transported to a hospital; their conditions have not been released. The two juveniles inside the Hyundai were detained, while the person who fled remains at large.

Police have not yet released the names of the deceased. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
