Two people were injured after a police pursuit led to a two-vehicle collision in Elk Grove on Monday night, June 3, 2024.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the traffic incident occurred at around 9:18 p.m. at the intersection of Laguna Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard.
Police said that they were chasing a 13-year-old who was driving along westbound Laguna Boulevard in a stolen car. The pursuit then ended around the intersection when the stolen vehicle crashed into another car.
Both vehicles reportedly sustained significant damage, with one of them even rolling over onto its roof due to the impact of the crash. The juvenile driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The suspect would be taken into custody after recovering, said the police.
Meanwhile, the driver of the other car suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was also transported to a local hospital to recover.
