Several vehicles were damaged when a loose tire caused a crash on Highway 280 in Cupertino on Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025.
According to the Santa Clara County Fire Department, the incident occurred at approximately 10:34 a.m. on Interstate 280 near Foothill Expressway.
Authorities said the tire detached from a vehicle traveling southbound, then bounced into the northbound lanes, striking one vehicle and prompting others to swerve, resulting in additional damage.
Among the affected vehicles, one sustained a cracked windshield. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and no major injuries were reported.
