[06-04-2026] Merced County, CA – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle on Santa Fe Dr. Near Eucalyptus Ave.

A man was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Merced County early Thursday morning, June 4, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred before 5 a.m. near Santa Fe Drive and Eucalyptus Avenue, close to Winton. 

Authorities stated that a driver traveling west on Santa Fe attempted to pass a slower vehicle and struck the pedestrian.

The driver pulled over and discovered the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area as investigators continue to examine the circumstances of the incident.
