A 55-year-old man died from his injuries 10 days after being struck by a vehicle in Hayward on Thursday morning, June 5, 2025.
According to the Hayward Police Department, officers responded to the crash at approximately 10:32 a.m. at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Longwood Avenue. The man was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries sustained in the collision.
Authorities said the driver, a 62-year-old man, remained at the scene and was uninjured. He was cooperative with the investigation, and drugs or alcohol are not believed to be contributing factors.
The pedestrian was later pronounced deceased at the hospital on Sunday, June 15, 2025. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification and formal identification.
The investigation is ongoing.
