[06-06-2024] Child Injured Following Vehicle Vs. Electric Scooter Collision Along Diablo Road in DanvilleA child was injured following a vehicle vs. electric scooter collision in Danville, Contra Costa County, on Thursday afternoon, June 6, 2024. 

According to the Danville Police Department, the collision happened around 3:27 p.m. on Diablo Road. 

Authorities stated that a child, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, was riding on a Ninebot electric scooter when they were struck by a Ford Maverick pickup truck. The child sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital. The extent of the injuries was not immediately known. 

Police said that the driver of the pickup truck stayed on the scene and cooperated with the authorities. It is unknown whether alcohol or speeding contributed to the collision. The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated. 

Further information has yet to be released by the authorities.
