According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the incident occurred near Jackson Road and Eagles Nest Road, not far from Sunrise Boulevard.

The circumstances behind the vehicular collision remain unclear, but officials confirmed that it led to a grass fire that burned about two acres. Pictures taken from the crash site showed at least one of the vehicles involved completely burnt. Firefighters were quick to put out the fire, mitigating further damages.

The total number of people involved was also undisclosed. Two were said to have sustained unspecified injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The names, ages, and genders of the hospitalized victims were not available immediately.

The road was blocked momentarily as the authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
