According to the Turlock Police Department, the accident happened at about 8:14 a.m. in front of Turlock High School in the 1600 block of East Canal Drive.

TPD first received reports of someone getting hit by a vehicle that was sitting down near East Canal Drive and Wallace Street, refusing medical help. When the authorities arrived at the crash site, they found the victim with a potentially broken ankle and quickly provided treatment to them.

Additional information about the victim’s identity, including their name, age, and gender, was not available at this time. It is also still unclear if the driver of the vehicle that hit the victim remained on the scene.

Authorities advised other motorists to stay clear of the area if possible as a precaution.
