[06-11-2026] Ventura County, CA – Two Bicyclists Killed, One Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Pacific Coast Highway

Two bicyclists were killed, and another was injured after a suspected DUI crash involving a pickup truck on Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura County on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:08 p.m. on northbound State Route 1 near Solimar Beach Road and involved a gray Nissan Frontier pickup truck and three bicyclists traveling in a designated bike lane.

Investigators reported that the pickup truck was traveling northbound at approximately 50 to 55 mph when it veered onto the right shoulder and entered the bike lane, striking all three cyclists from behind. The truck then continued forward, collided with a metal guardrail, and came to a stop on the shoulder.

One bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. A second cyclist was transported to Ventura County Medical Center, where they later died from their injuries. The third cyclist sustained minor to moderate injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Authorities stated that the driver, a 24-year-old man from Oxnard, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested at the scene. The identities of the bicyclists have not yet been released.
