A 33-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a pickup truck at an intersection in East Hemet late Saturday night, June 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Christopher S. of Hemet was riding his Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 southbound on Yale Street just after 11:00 p.m. when a Ford F-150 traveling northbound turned left onto westbound Acacia Avenue directly in his path.
CHP Officer Jonathan Torres stated that the rider was unable to swerve or stop in time and crashed into the passenger side of the truck. The impact ejected him onto the roadway.
Emergency crews, including CHP officers, Riverside County sheriff’s deputies, and fire department paramedics, responded to the scene within 15 minutes. Shick was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup driver, who was not injured, remained at the site and called 911. He was questioned but not arrested. The investigation remains ongoing.
