Two people were killed, and two others were seriously injured following a two-vehicle crash in Santa Cruz County on Sunday night, June 14, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the intersection at around 8:47 p.m. at State Route 152 and Casserly Road.
Investigators reported that a white 2011 Infiniti G37 traveling westbound on Highway 152 collided with a gray 2026 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound through the intersection.
Authorities stated that both occupants of the Toyota Camry, a 19-year-old driver from Capitola and a 17-year-old passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Infiniti suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Natividad Medical Center. The passenger in the Infiniti was airlifted to Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
Officials reported that the Infiniti driver was arrested and remained in custody. Alcohol or drugs are being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
