[06-15-2025] Bicyclist Killed in Crash With Vehicle on Roberts Lane in BakersfieldA female bicyclist was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Bakersfield late Sunday night, June 15, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just after 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Roberts Lane, east of Plymouth Avenue. 

A 21-year-old driver was traveling westbound at approximately 35 to 40 mph when the bicyclist entered the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk and into the vehicle’s path.

CHP reported that there were no street lights in the area and that the bicycle had no lights or reflectors. The vehicle’s front end struck the right side of the bicycle, ejecting the rider.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released. The driver remained onsite and cooperated with investigators. 

The crash remains under investigation.
