[06-16-2024] One Person Killed, Another Hospitalized Following Single-Vehicle Speeding Crash in Arden-ArcadeOne person was killed, while another was hospitalized following a single-vehicle speeding crash in Arden-Arcade, Sacramento County, on Sunday morning, June 16, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the vehicular collision occurred on the 600 block of Fulton Avenue at the Y intersection with Munroe Street and near Loehmann’s Plaza.

Officers said that a Porsche sedan occupied by two people was traveling southbound toward the intersection at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Porsche reportedly failed to turn safely due to the speed and entered the median before colliding with a tree just outside the On the Y bar.

Two people were inside the wrecked vehicle at the time of the accident: the driver and the passenger. Responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

The passenger, whose name, age, and gender were not disclosed, survived and was rushed to a nearby hospital after sustaining minor injuries. It is not immediately known if the passenger is related to the driver.

No further information was immediately available, and the authorities are still gathering all the necessary details to determine the factors that may have contributed to the deadly incident.
