[06-21-2024] One Person Killed Following Two-Vehicle Crash on I-80 in Rodeo One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash in Rodeo, Contra Costa County, on Friday morning, June 21, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 4:05 a.m. on westbound I-80 just east of the Willow Avenue exit.

Authorities stated that a Chrysler 300 had reportedly crashed and flipped over on the freeway. As per the CHP, a second vehicle approached and, for some reason, collided with the Chrysler, which was already on its roof.

At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene, but their identity was not provided. As of this writing, it is unknown if anyone else was injured in the vehicular accident as a whole. 

The total number of people involved has not yet been disclosed, and details on their identities were not immediately known. Drugs, alcohol, and speeding were being investigated as factors of the collision, but the official cause of the incident remains unclear. 

Further information regarding the incident has yet to be released by the authorities.
