[06-27-2024] Riverside County, CA – Male Pedestrian Killed After Hit-And-Run Collision in San Jacinto

A male pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run collision in San Jacinto early Thursday morning, June 27, 2024.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the deadly crash happened just after 3:00 a.m. along San Jacinto Avenue, just south of Shaver Street.

Authorities stated that an unspecified vehicle struck the pedestrian while he was in the middle of the roadway at an unconfirmed speed. The driver of said vehicle reportedly then drove away without rendering help to the victim or calling 911.

The male victim, whose name, age, and origin were not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene by the responding medical crew moments after their arrival. It is still unclear if he was crossing the road when the accident occurred.

Authorities were able to track down the hit-and-run driver using the evidence found on the scene following the fatal crash. The suspect, whose identity was not disclosed, was taken into custody.
