[06-28-2024] San Diego County, CA – One Person Killed, Three Others Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Collision on Old Highway 80

One person was killed, and three others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision in Manzanita, San Diego County, on early Friday morning, June 28, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Old Highway 80 and Tierra Del Sol Road. 

Authorities stated that the collision involved a pickup truck, a small SUV, and a blue car. Further details on how the collision happened were not immediately known. However, CHP said that the female driver of the blue car was ejected after colliding head-on with the pickup truck and the small SUV. The woman, whose name, age, and place of origin were not disclosed, was declared dead at the scene. 

Meanwhile, two occupants of the pickup truck were airlifted to area hospitals. The SUV’s driver was also injured and transported to the hospital. The extent of their injuries, as well as their current condition, were not disclosed as of this writing. 

No additional details were released, and the authorities are gathering all the necessary information to determine the cause of the incident.
