[06-28-2026] Riverside County, CA – At Least One Dead After Tesla Crashes Off Moreno Valley (60) Freeway

At least one person died after a Tesla struck a guardrail and went off the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway on Sunday night, June 28, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 9:42 p.m. on the westbound Moreno Valley Freeway at Heacock Street.

Witnesses stated that the driver, along with three passengers, was trapped inside the vehicle and that the car had been driven recklessly prior to the collision.

Riverside County Fire Department reported that three people were transported by ground ambulance to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries. It is unclear whether the fatality occurred at the scene or at the hospital.

The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
