[07-01-2024] Two Women Seriously Injured After Two-Vehicle Fiery Collision in PhelanTwo women were seriously injured after a two-vehicle fiery collision in Phelan, San Bernardino County, on Monday night, July 1, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 9:49 p.m. near the intersection of Phelan Road and Smith Road.

A witness told the authorities that the crash involved a white Ford F250 and a white Ford utility truck, both of which were driven by a woman. How the two vehicles came together remains unclear, but CHP reported that one burst into flames while an occupant was still inside.

Two medical helicopters were called to help the two injured female drivers. One of them airlifted the woman who sustained serious injuries, including burns, to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The other transported the less critically injured woman to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Further information about the two patients’ identities and their current conditions was not immediately disclosed. 

CHP Victorville Station is still investigating the official cause of the fiery crash. Additional details will be provided as they become available.
