[07-01-2026] Riverside County, CA – One Injured After SUV Collides With Power Pole in Moreno Valley

One person was injured after an SUV collided with a power pole in Moreno Valley on Wednesday afternoon, July 1, 2026.

According to Cal Fire, crews responded shortly after noon to the 14900 block of Gilman Springs Road at Big Nash Road after reports of a vehicle striking a light pole.

Responding firefighters found that the power pole had been sheared at ground level and collapsed onto the front of the SUV, trapping two occupants inside the vehicle.

Both individuals were extricated from the vehicle. One person was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, while the other declined medical treatment at the scene and signed an AMA.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the cause of the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
