[07-04-2024] Sacramento County, CA – One Person Seriously Injured Following Pedestrian Vs. Vehicle DUI Collision in Del Paso Park

One person was seriously injured following a pedestrian vs. vehicle DUI collision in Del Paso Park, Sacramento, on Thursday morning, July 4, 2024. 

According to the Sacramento Police Department, the crash happened around 3:35 a.m. at Auburn Boulevard and Watt Avenue.

Authorities stated that a pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not revealed, was in critical condition after they were struck by an unspecified vehicle. The victim sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for further treatment. 

As of this writing, the pedestrian’s current condition was not provided. 

Meanwhile, the driver, who appeared intoxicated at the time of the crash, was arrested for felony driving under the influence. The police are still investigating the incident to determine if there are any additional factors that contributed to the collision. 

As of 6:42 a.m., Auburn Boulevard was shut down between Watt Avenue and the Business 80 off-ramp but fully reopened by around 8:52 a.m.
