According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:39 a.m. in the 8100 block of South Union Avenue near the northbound lanes.
Officers responded to reports of a person down on the shoulder of the roadway. Upon arrival, they located a man suffering from severe injuries.
