[07-05-2025] Woman Killed in Suspected DUI Crash on Peppermint Circle Near Peppermint LaneA woman was killed after a suspected DUI crash involving a single vehicle in Tuolumne County on Saturday morning, July 5, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 12:08 a.m. on Peppermint Circle, west of Peppermint Lane.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 61-year-old man was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on Peppermint Circle when he failed to navigate a curve in the road. The vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

The truck continued in a northwesterly direction, hitting a second tree before coming to a stop. The driver then reversed the vehicle and collided with a wooden power pole.

A 54-year-old woman in the front passenger seat was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was determined to be under the influence and was arrested at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
