[07-06-2026] Kern County, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Jackknifed Truck Causes Delays on Highway 58 in Bakersfield

A multi-vehicle crash involving a jackknifed truck caused traffic delays on eastbound Highway 58 in Bakersfield on Monday afternoon, July 6, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 3:33 p.m. on eastbound State Route 58 just west of Union Avenue.

Authorities said a truck jackknifed and spilled debris onto the roadway, leading to a crash involving multiple vehicles. CHP update reported that three vehicles, including an SUV and two sedans, were located on the right shoulder.

No information regarding injuries has been released. The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
