Three people were injured, including children, following a suspected two-vehicle DUI collision in Merced County on Monday night, July 8, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. on Highway 152 just west of Lodi Road.
CHP stated that a 25-year-old woman driving a Toyota Camry west on Highway 152 attempted to overtake a Nissan but hit the other car’s back end instead. This caused both drivers to lose control of their vehicles before crashing into each other.
It was later confirmed that the woman driving a Camry had two children inside when the crash happened. Both of them weren’t wearing seat belts and had suffered major injuries. The current condition of the child victims was not immediately available.
Meanwhile, the Nissan driver, another woman, sustained minor injuries. The 25-year-old Camry driver also suffered minor injuries and was later arrested for drunk driving.
Additional details weren’t available at this time. Police work is underway.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
