One person was killed following a pedestrian vs. vehicle collision in Sacramento County on Tuesday night, July 9, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 10:00 p.m. on Gerber and Elk Grove Florin roads.
Authorities stated that a pedestrian, whose name, age, and gender were not revealed, was struck by an unspecified vehicle. The victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said it is unclear where the vehicle or pedestrian was at the time of the crash. The driver of the vehicle that struck the victim remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Drugs, alcohol, and speeding were being investigated as possible factors in the crash.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
