[07-10-2026] San Luis Obispo County, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash Slows Traffic on Cuesta Grade, Highway 101

A two-vehicle crash slowed northbound traffic on the Cuesta Grade in San Luis Obispo County on Friday afternoon, July 10, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 3:52 p.m. about halfway up the grade. 

CHP traffic logs indicated that both vehicles were in the No. 1 lane by 4:04 p.m., and one person was out of their vehicle picking up debris from the roadway.

By 4:11 p.m., the CHP reported that the roadway was cleared, though traffic remained slow in the area.

The investigation remains ongoing.
