[07-10-2026] Solano County, CA – Man Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-80 East of Red Top Rd.

A 60-year-old man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 80 in Solano County on Friday morning, July 10, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 2:35 a.m. east of Red Top Road near Cordelia. 

Authorities said the man was driving a gray Lexus sedan at a high rate of speed when he became involved in a minor collision with a black Lexus sedan. This caused his vehicle to strike the center median, overturn, and come to rest in the No. 1 lane.

Shortly afterward, a gray Dodge SUV collided with the overturned Lexus. The driver of the Lexus died from his injuries at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not been released. No other injuries were reported.

CHP noted that speed is considered a factor, though the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
