[07-14-2024] One Person Killed, Another Injured After Single-Vehicle Crash in MatherOne person was killed, while another was injured after a single-vehicle crash in Mather, Sacramento County, early Sunday morning, July 14, 2024.

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the collision occurred around 12:57 a.m. in the area of Ecology Lane and Bradshaw Road.

The circumstances of the incident remain unclear, but authorities said that an unspecified vehicle crashed into a light pole near the intersection. The make or model of the vehicle involved was not disclosed.

There were reportedly two people inside the car at the time of the accident. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a nearby hospital after sustaining moderate injuries. There is no word yet on whether the deceased was the driver or a passenger in the vehicle.

Authorities have yet to provide further information regarding the identities of the people affected by the accident.

The cause of the accident is still unknown. The possible involvement of speed, drugs, or alcohol is being investigated.
