Several people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 1 in Monterey late Monday night, July 14, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:55 p.m. on the northbound side of Highway 1, just south of Highway 68.
The crash involved five vehicles and resulted in one major injury and several minor injuries. CHP officials stated that the individual with major injuries is suspected of driving under the influence.
The incident remains under investigation.
