[07-16-2024] Riverside County, CA – At Least One Person Hospitalized Following Multi-Vehicle Collision Along 215 Freeway

At least one person was hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision in Riverside County on early Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024. 

According to the responding officials, the crash happened shortly before 1:00 a.m. on the northbound 215 Freeway near Center Street. 

Authorities stated that eight vehicles were involved in the collision on the freeway. Upon arrival, the police found at least one person trapped in one of the damaged vehicles. Emergency personnel immediately extricated the victim and transported them to a local hospital. 

Details on how the collision occurred, as well as the total number of people involved, were not disclosed. As of this writing, no other injuries were reported. 

A SigAlert was issued for the closure of northbound lanes but was reopened around 7:00 a.m.

The police are still investigating the crash to determine the possible factors leading up to the collision. No additional details were available. 

Witnesses are asked to contact the authorities and help with the ongoing investigation.
