[07-16-2025] One Person Killed After Crashing Into Semi-Truck on 91 Freeway at La Sierra AvenueOne person was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck on the westbound 91 Freeway in Riverside County late Wednesday night, July 16, 2025.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before midnight on the shoulder of the westbound lanes at La Sierra Avenue. 

Responding officers found a sedan lodged underneath a parked semi-truck trailer, with the top half of the vehicle crushed nearly to its midpoint.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP stated that the third westbound lane remained closed until approximately 4:30 a.m. while investigators processed the scene.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that Riverside City Fire initially requested an extrication truck, but it was canceled when the fatality was confirmed. The driver of the semi-truck, who was reportedly stopped on the shoulder to fix his vehicle’s lights, was uninjured.

CHP said no other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and the identity of the deceased driver has not yet been released.
