[07-17-2024] At Least Two People Injured Following Multi-Vehicle Crash Along I-5 in Elk GroveAt least two people were injured following a multi-vehicle crash in Elk Grove on Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the traffic collision happened around 4:10 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5, just north of Laguna Boulevard.

The number of vehicles and people involved in the accident was not disclosed, but CHP reported that at least two individuals were injured. The extent of the injuries sustained, and the identities of the victims were not provided.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. It is not immediately known if alcohol, drugs, or speeding played a role in it.

The wreckage reportedly blocked off the fast lane of I-5. Other motorists were advised to seek alternative routes for the time being as the authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
