[07-18-2024] At Least One Person Hospitalized Following Two-Vehicle Collision on SR-86 At least one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision in Imperial County on early Thursday morning, July 18, 2024. 

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at about 3:30 a.m. on State Route 86 near Salton City. 

Authorities stated that two unspecified vehicles were involved in the collision. There is no word yet on how the collision occurred, but one person was transported to an out-of-county hospital for treatment. Details on the extent of injuries and the victim’s condition were not immediately disclosed. 

The total number of people involved remains unclear. It is unknown if drugs, alcohol, and speeding played a role. 

CHP is still conducting further investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash. Additional details have yet to be released once they become available.
