A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Novato early Saturday morning, July 18, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on the southbound Highway 101 off-ramp to Rowland Boulevard.
Authorities said a Toyota Corolla struck the pedestrian a significant distance north of the intersection with Rowland Boulevard.
The driver, a 22-year-old Novato man, remained at the scene and is not suspected of being under the influence. Investigators are continuing to determine why the pedestrian was walking on the off-ramp.
The Marin County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as a 46-year-old individual reportedly residing in the Novato area. The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of close family members.
The investigation remains ongoing.
