[07-18-2026] Santa Clara County, CA – Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck By Vehicle in San Jose

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in San Jose on Saturday, July 18, 2026.

According to San Jose Police, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. in the area of Leigh Avenue and Patio Drive.

Authorities reported that a vehicle first collided with the pedestrian’s shopping cart, and that when the first vehicle stopped, a second vehicle struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but was expected to survive, according to medical staff. Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
