[07-20-2026] Fresno County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash in Malaga

A man was killed by at least one hit-and-run driver on Golden State Boulevard in Malaga, Fresno County, on Monday evening, July 20, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 10:20 p.m. to southbound Golden State Boulevard, south of Central Avenue, after reports of a person struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, they found a 49-year-old man from Fresno who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined the pedestrian was walking in the roadway when he was struck by one or more vehicles. Preliminary reports suggest that at least one of the involved vehicles may have been a white 2018–2023 Toyota Camry.

Around 11 p.m., Fresno Police responded to a vehicle fire at Jensen and Maple Avenues, where a burned white 2008 Infiniti G37 was recovered.

CHP is actively investigating to determine whether the Infiniti was involved in the fatal crash.

The man’s identity has not been officially released. The investigation remains ongoing.
