A driver was killed after an Audi sedan collided with a farm tractor on Manning Avenue in Fresno County on Wednesday morning, July 22, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 8 a.m. on Manning Avenue, just east of Yuba Avenue.
Initial reports indicated a person was unresponsive inside a vehicle that had caught fire.
Authorities said a John Deere farm tractor was traveling westbound on Manning Avenue at a reduced speed near the right shoulder when a westbound Audi approached from behind at a high rate of speed.
The Audi struck the tractor’s left rear axle, causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times before coming to rest on the south shoulder and catching fire.
The Audi driver was trapped inside the burning vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor driver sustained moderate to major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center.
CHP reported that alcohol or drugs are not suspected to have contributed to the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing.
