A man died after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Saviers Road in Oxnard early Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers and emergency personnel responded shortly before 5:40 a.m. to the area between Wooley Road and Hill Street. They located an unresponsive man with major injuries beneath a vehicle.
Investigators determined that the pedestrian was initially struck by a northbound vehicle while crossing the northbound lane of Saviers Road. The driver briefly pulled to the shoulder but then fled the scene. Moments later, the fallen pedestrian was run over by a northbound Dodge Journey SUV driven by a man from Port Hueneme. The Dodge driver remained at the scene.
Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending next-of-kin notification.
The incident remains under investigation, and the first driver involved has not been identified.
