[07-23-2026] Fresno County, CA – Elderly Woman Killed, Several Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Millerton Lake

An elderly woman was killed, and several others were injured in a two-vehicle crash near Millerton Lake in Fresno County, on Thursday afternoon, July 23, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. at the intersection of Auberry Road and Old Millerton Road.

Authorities said an 18-year-old Clovis woman driving a Toyota sedan failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. The Toyota then collided with a Nissan sedan driven by an 88-year-old Prather man, causing both vehicles to travel into a nearby embankment.

The elderly female passenger in the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver and two additional passengers were transported to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. The Toyota driver also suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.

CHP reported that alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. The CHP continues to investigate the collision.
