A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Willows on Monday night, July 29, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just north of Willows and south of County Road 39.
The victim, whose name, age, and gender were not provided, was pronounced dead following the incident. It is not immediately known if they were struck by a single car or multiple vehicles. What the victim was doing along the roadway before the accident is also still unclear.
There is no word yet on whether the driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained on the scene or was injured.
Additional information was not immediately available, and the authorities are still examining all the evidence found to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
