A man was killed and another injured after a vehicle crashed into a tree and a cinder block wall in Santa Ana on Thursday night, July 31, 2025.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the crash occurred around 10:40 p.m. near Segerstrom Avenue and Bear Street. Responding officers found the vehicle pinned against a cinder block wall with two occupants inside.
Orange County Fire Authority personnel assisted with the rescue and transported both the passenger and the driver to a hospital. The passenger, a 42-year-old Fountain Valley resident, later died from his injuries. His name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Police stated that the vehicle may have been speeding westbound on Segerstrom Avenue before veering off the road, hitting a tree, and colliding with the wall. Impairment is not believed to be a factor, and the driver has cooperated with the investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
