One person was killed and two others were injured in a crash involving an SUV in San Mateo on Thursday evening, July 31, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just after 6:15 p.m. at Alameda de las Pulgas and the eastbound Highway 92 off-ramp. A black SUV struck a light pole in the area.
San Mateo Police confirmed that one person, identified by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office as 30-year-old Yina B. of South San Francisco, was pronounced dead. Two other individuals were transported to a trauma center with injuries.
Alameda de las Pulgas was closed in both directions between 20th Avenue and Barneson Avenue, and the on- and off-ramps at Highway 92 were shut down following the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision.
